Pupils from Llanfyllin Primary School worked with Nicola Knapton and Clare Martin to create a series of felt banners based upon the paintings by Lieutenant Pierre Augeraud in the Council House (now Danby’s Pharmacy). Augeraud was one of the Napoleonic prisoners of war who lived on parole In Llanfyllin and other Border towns in the early 19th century. He fell in love with Maria Williams, daughter of the Vicar of Llanfyllin at that time.

The banners were on display at St Myllin’s Day and then in the church.

We delivered this project in partnership with Gregynog Festival.
