Masquerade began their 2016 season looking at the theme of ‘Happy Horror Happenings!’, which involved a light-hearted look at the horror genre and participants explored this creatively through writing, theatre, sound and arts and crafts. They experimented with creating dramatic tension using rhythm and repetition, building atmosphere and ‘shocking’ the audience. They took part in bi-weekly sessions from April – December 2016.

They paraded and performed at local events including St Myllin’s Day in June and at the Workhouse Party in July to family audiences. There were about 50 people in attendance to each of these performances. The project culminated in an entertaining evening at Theatr Llwyn on Saturday the 3rd of December with a performance called Ghost Academy to which there was an audience of over 70 who thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
