Sharon CalderCelebrate Drama and Dance, stories in Performance!
Sharon works with integrated Drama, expressive Dance, Sound, Crafts, Creative Writing and Percussion to create and experiment with stories, themes, topics and ideas in Performance.
She works largely with school children, people with learning disabilities and also has experience of running classes for adults.
2015 is Sharon’s third year of leading, creating and facilitating workshops and performances at ‘Masquerade’ a theatre company largely for people with learning difficulties based in Llanfyllin run by Arts Connection.
Her qualifications include a Post Graduate Certificate in Education Drama and English, BA (Hons) 2:1 in Drama and English and she went on to train and work as a Professional Actress based in London then Cornwall. She currently still does occasional Acting and Voiceover work and played the lead character in ‘Who Made Marion’ a community film project by COIPU Films completed and released at the beginning of 2015.
Sharon has been one of the lead artists for ‘Arts Extravaganzia’ 2011,2012 and 2014, summer workshops for people with learning disabilities, through Arts Connection.
Sharon has done a large variety of projects over the last seven
years with Arts Connection, including ‘Celebrating Children’s Creativity’ projects in schools (The Mousehole Cat, Rivers, Austrailia, India, Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes, Welsh Myths, Electricity), Britten Project 2013 in schools (Opera, Maypole and Morris Dancing, Mayday Myths), BBC’s 10 Pieces and ‘Frozen’ amongst others.
Previous to this Sharon taught Drama classes in Llanidloes and Falmouth, and took ‘Dance4life’ Workshops into local Schools.
