Project aimed at adults with learning disabilities that has been running successfully for over 10 years.

Adults from Cae Melyn, Leighton Day Base, Mencap, Rhoslyn and Cerrig Camu and the local community took part this year. They attended 4 sessions over the summer taking part in dance, and visual arts mediums. This year we themed the project around ‘Illusion’, participants expressed themselves creatively based upon this theme. In one visual arts workshop, with Alex Allpress, they used different modelling techniques with clay to make castles and other objects the participants felt related to the theme. They worked with Iris Gordijn to create a theatre in a box, they made puppets and created stories and used percussion instruments to help create the illusion. They created dance pieces with Helen Gane, taking inspiration from visual illusions and then re-creating them through movement. Towards the end of the final day participants displayed and shared their work with each other and had a lot fun sharing what had been created.
