The Celebrating Children’s Creativity project has been running for over 10 years now. It allows primary school children to work with professional artists on a range of artistic mediums. Over the past year we have worked with around 20 primary schools across North Powys providing approximately 2,000 participation places. There have been some fantastic and high quality outcomes to the projects in a range of artistic mediums.

Patrick Harrison delivered Forest Schools which allows children to learn about their natural environment while creating artistic outcomes. Outdoor and indoor willow structures and objects were made with Caroline Lowe, a number of mosaics and murals on a range of themes were created with Ingrid Maugham. A number of visual arts, crafts and textile projects happened with Hilary Roberts, Copper art was used to create a welcoming dragon with Stan Jankowski, animations (some of which are available to view on our Youtube Channel) were put together with Graham Roberts and drama workshops were run focusing on emotional intelligence with Penri Roberts. A number of schools worked with Anna Clarke on outdoor murals which were created and themed around the drawings by the pupils. Another highlight was a visit from the Allegri String Quartet, one of the oldest British chamber music ensembles in existence, to Ysgol Pennant.

Many of the projects also involved the volunteer support of parents and others which made the projects all the more successful!
