DESCRIPTION:‘As your heart breaks open there will be room for the world to heal.’ – Joanna Macy\nInspired by the pressing challenges of the climate crisis\, Richard Chappell Dance’s latest creation Land Empathy\, builds on its impactful climate activism BBC film Heart Land\, to explore how culture can enhance our spiritual connection to the natural world. \nFeaturing three dancers from the company’s renowned ensemble\, original sculptures by visual artist Anna Gillespie\, and a pulsating score by Cardiff-based electronic music duo Larch\, Land Empathy weaves a powerful narrative that helps foster climate consciousness and conveys a passionate message of hope for the future. \nJoin Richard Chappell Dance and experience the transformational power dance can have to help inspire change. \nChoreographer: Richard Chappell\nComposers: Larch (Matthew Allmark and Kai Hellstrom)\nSculptor: Anna Gillespie\nDancers: Marla King\, Juan Sanchez Plaza\, Riz Golden\nDramaturg: Neus Gil Cortes\nClimate Justice Facilitator: Marla King\nSet Designer and Creative Facilitator: Charlie Knight \nLand Empathy has been commissioned through Stomping Ground by The Place\, Greenwich and Docklands International Festival\, Sismograf\, Tramway\, Strike a Light and FABRIC\, with additional co-commissioning from Theatre Royal Plymouth and The Linbury Trust.
