We worked in partnership with Environment Agency Wales to work with children at Llangedwyn School who raised salmon from eggs for release into the river Tanat. In the spring term, they studied salmon life cycles and with Nicola Knapton they constructed a huge colourful 3D felt wall-hanging to celebrate this special event. During the summer term, the children worked with Abi Purslow to tell the story of the salmon’s one thousand mile swim to the Atlantic Ocean through a celebratory dance.
The children have really enjoyed taking part in the Salmon homecoming project. This work is vital for the communities’ understanding of the importance of the work our partners the Environment Agency.
