Sharon is a Performer, Storyteller and Community Arts Practitioner working with integrated Drama, Expressive Dance and Movement, Sound, Crafts, Creative Writing and Percussion.
She works with stories, themes, topics and ideas in Performance.
Sharon currently works mainly with people who have learning disabilities and is now in her eighth year of leading, creating and facilitating workshops and performances with ‘Masquerade’, an inclusive theatre company based in Llanfyllin and funded and supported by Arts Connection.
This year of 2020 her skills have had to evolve into keeping creative integrity whilst connecting on Zoom!
Sharon has created a Youtube channel ‘Sharing Stories with Sharon’ which was initially created as another way of connecting through story performance and sharing during lockdown.
Sharon enjoys participating in local films as an actress, including ‘Who Made Marion’ commissioned as a celebration of 25 years of Arts Connection, where she played the lead, Marion.
Sharon participated over many years with Arts Connection’s ‘Children’s Creativity Project’ taking a variety of themes and stories to explore in local primary schools. Projects included Rivers, Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes, The Mousehole Cat, World War 2, Weather, India, Australia, Space, Welsh Myths.
Other Community projects include the World War 2 inclusive community Commemoration in Llanfyllin in 2019, Rhiwhireath Community Centre 100 year Celebration 2018, Benjamin Britten project in schools, BBC’s 10 Pieces and ‘Frozen’ amongst others.
Previous to this Sharon trained and worked as a Professional Actress in London and Cornwall, taught Drama classes to children in Llanidloes and an adult night class in Drama in Falmouth. She also does occasional voiceover work.
Her qualifications include BA Hons 2:1 Drama and English and a PGCE (Drama/English)
