We worked in partnership with local resident, Alan Crowe, to create two train murals in Welshpool, which will become part of the Llanfair to Welshpool Light Railway trail.

The first mural, painted by Anna Roberts, depicts the actual train called the Countess, going through the streets of Welshpool as it used to, at the gable end of Derek’s plaice in Church Street. The second mural was undertaken by artist Emma Holmes, who worked with the Oldford, Gungrog and Ardwyn schools and had great support and involvement from Ponthafren, in putting ideas together for the design and also helping to paint the wall behind Welshpool Library.

The murals have been made possible by funding from the Sustainable Tourism Powys Fund and support from local businesses such as Boys & Boden and Mr Pope who allowed us to use the wall.
