We worked with Geraint Edwards and Jane Mason to deliver workshops that involved making different types of fans and windmills from recycled materials. The 2 primary schools who took part also learnt about renewable energy. Geraint Edwards also delivered workshops at the Royal Welsh Show where the windmills were a huge hit!
We worked with one class at Archdeacon Griffiths school over 3 sessions with Jane Mason, where they explore renewable energies with a focus on wind. They made a range of different type of fan from recycled materials.
We worked with the two classes at Irfon Valley School who had 4 sessions each with Geraint Edwards, where they explore renewable energies with a focus on wind. They made a range of different type of fan from recycled materials and also started to create a tree / fan sculpture from carboard and off cut material.
Geraint went along to the Wind2 stall at the Royal Welsh Show over the 4 days and delivered a recycled fan workshop which was very popular with those who stopped by. Many said it was the best children’s activity on offer at the show. The activity and engagement were great.
The project was funded by Arts & Business Cymru CultureStep fund and Wind2. After the project we were nominated for the Arts & Business & the Environment award and won!!!
